This section outlines the shared resources provided by the Rochester Makerspace and the materials members are expected to provide for their own projects.
1. What Makerspace Provides
1.1 Project Boards & Glass
- Project Boards: Homasote project boards are available for active work.
- Member Glass Bins: You may use glass only from the labeled clear plastic bins. These contain a mix of opaque and transparent scrap glass.
⚠️ Class Glass Policy
Full or partial glass sheets located outside the clear bins are reserved strictly for classes. Extra glass is cycled into the member bins periodically.
1.2 Tools & Consumables
All Makerspace-provided tools and materials must remain on-site at all times.

2. What Members Must Provide
Members are responsible for supplying their own primary materials and personal safety gear:
- Glass sheets
- Copper foil (black-backed 7/32” recommended)
- Solder: (60/40 — 60% tin, 40% lead)
- Jump rings
- Additional personal tools (optional)
- Sharpies
- X-Acto Knife
- Safety Glasses
- Mask
3. Donations
We gratefully accept glass sheets, offcuts, and tools in good working condition.
- Small Donations: May be placed in the designated donation area.
- Large Donations: Please coordinate with the Office Manager’
